This privacy policy describes how Airplan (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at airplanapp.com and our mobile application “Airplan” (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

Who we are

Airplan is a management platform for flying clubs and shared aircraft. Our website is located at airplanapp.com. For privacy-related questions, you can contact us at the email address you use for your Airplan account or through the app’s support or settings.

Information we collect

We collect information that you provide and that is generated when you use the Service:

• Account and profile: When you sign up or sign in, we receive your name, email address, and other account details from our authentication provider (Clerk). We store a corresponding profile in our database (e.g., name, email, timezone, and app preferences).
• Flight and aircraft data: Flight logs (e.g., dates, routes, Hobbs/tach, landings, pilot, purpose), aircraft information, and any notes you enter.
• Maintenance and compliance: Maintenance records, inspections, squawks, and related compliance or due-date information.
• Club and membership data: Information about clubs, memberships, reservations, schedules, and billing-related data you or your club enters.
• Usage and device: We may collect information about how you use the app and your device (e.g., for stability and improving the Service). Our hosting and backend provider (Google Firebase) may also process and store data you send through the app.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (scheduling, flight logging, maintenance, and related features).
• Authenticate you and manage your account and club memberships.
• Improve the Service, fix issues, and understand how the Service is used.
• Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.

Third-party services

We rely on the following third parties, each of which has its own privacy policy:

• Clerk – We use Clerk for sign-up and sign-in. Clerk processes your authentication data. See Clerk’s privacy policy.
• Firebase (Google) – We use Google Firebase for our backend (database, storage, and cloud functions). Data you submit in the app is stored and processed by Firebase. See Firebase privacy and Google’s privacy policy.
• Apple – If you download the app from the App Store, Apple may collect information as described in Apple’s privacy policy.

Data retention and security

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and comply with law. We use industry-standard measures (including encryption and secure infrastructure via Firebase) to protect your data. No system is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account credentials safe.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your profile and data directly in the app. For other requests (e.g., full account or data deletion), contact us via the email associated with your account or through the app. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. The current version will always be available at https://airplanapp.com/privacy. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
